![]() If you do have a suitable file system you can move on to, you still need to get your files there. You can put a new bigger drive in, create a new case insensitive partition etc, but detailed instructions are beyond the scope of this simple reply. If you dont have a spare case insensitive partition/drive you can move on to, there isnt an easy solution for you unfortunately. If you have spare partitions that are case insensitve and are big enough, that's ideal. ![]() You need to move the Pictures and Music folder to a case insensitive file system. However when you try to sync (or select media within the app), the app tries to look for the files it wont find them (it converts all file paths it gets from iTunes and iPhoto into lower case) which possibly dont match what's on the file system and get's into some strange state while looking. After getting the app to start it went looking for iTunes and loaded the media lists from iTunes and iPhoto. I found that for me, the reason was that my content was also stored on a case Sensitive File system that is, my Music and Pictures folders were both on the same case sensitive file system as the app. (Note: The application has been built with the ist in lower case, but the app needs ist to be able to load) $> cd /Applications/HTC\ Sync\ Manager.app/Contents If you screw the app up, just re-install (after all it doesnt work, right ?) If you're not sure about this reply back and I'll try to help. So, Assuming it's case sensitive, you need to open Terminal to do the following patch. If it includes ".Case Sensitive." in the Format section then keep following this section. Then use to display the information about the volume. Select the boot drive in the right side of Finder with a single click. To check, select your computer in the left bar of Finder. The exact set of steps you need to take depend on how your file systems are configured.Ĭheck the file system your /Applications folder is on. You can fix this but it involves a few steps. It also expects your content to be stored on a case insensitive file system. ****** The app has been built to run from a case insensitive file system. It's major problem is down to one thing: Case Sensitivity. Sync Manager WILL run on OSX (have just got this to work under Mavericks) but has been built by a junior development team I suspect. Had exactly these problems and spent a lot of time resolving them. Really frustrated htc one user.įor the benefit of those arriving here looking for an answer: is there anyone out there that has any idea at all? before I throw the head up and go back to my iphone as I really am fed up trying to work this phone out and it's issues!! Ps I have also tried the older version and also tried disabling my virus software. ![]() ![]() When I plug the phone in htc sync manager opens an all, but doesn't see the phone which I find weird as why does it open then. I understand that I can just plug it in and put music on it through a folder option, but this is really bugging me now. I have installed, unistalled, usb debugging options, done the msconfig thingy, I have even had the htc guys on the phone remotely using my laptop and they couldn't get it to work either (told me it was probably the lead I got with the phone) tried a diff one and still nout. Weird I know, but that's not the main problem I have installed htc sync manager and cannot get it to find my phone. phoned htc, 1 and 1 and trawled through threads (still wouldn't work!) then one day this week it just started working like that). First of all I couldn't get my emails set up through it. But from the moment I got the phone I have been having problems. I've used iphones for 6 years, but just fancied something different. I've decided to jump from iphone to an htc one.
